The teacher set a nasty sum,
To do with finding profit.
But it was much too hard for some,
And many cried “Come off it!”

Several tried to work it out,
And some got very close,
But many were unsure about
Nett profit or the gross.

This profit question made them groan,
And caused a few to sweat.
Several found the gross, but on-
